Ozone is a powerful oxidant and bactericide and is sometimes called “activated oxygen”, or “triatomic oxygen”, contains three atoms of oxygen rather than the two atoms we normally breathe. Ozone is an effective method for eliminating unpleasant odors in garbage/sewage treatment rooms, grease and oil mist in cooking processing areas and other areas where odor is a problem. However in cases where a lot of smoke and oil mist are generated during the cooking process the use of an electrostatic air cleaner is recommended.
UVIAIRE’s FGD unit is an Ozone Generator producing high volume of ozone via the corona discharge method. Air is drawn through a blower fan across the corona plates powered by high tension transformers. The oxygen in the air is converted into ozone which is discharged through the 100mm diameter nozzle into the desired area where the ozone reacts with contaminants. A hydrophobic prefilter ensures dry clean air being fed to the corona discharge plates. All the electronic components and power supply are in a separate compartment, out of the air stream.
Ozone is suicidal molecule; it looks for a contaminant to attack, oxidizing it and destroying itself in the process. Housing is in stainless steel to prevent corrosion from ozone, and for long lasting operation.
In AUTO mode, the built in Air Pressure Switch ensures unit will operate when negative air pressure is detected. This is useful as it reduces the need to interlock the unit to the exhaust fan. Accessories include a 1.5m long 100mm aluminum flexible duct, SS hose clips and a mounting flange.

Air Flow handling capacity depends on odor level. For heavier odor, a ratio of the maximum airflow is considered. Hence the air handling capacity shall be reduced to 0.25 for heavy odor and 0.5 for medium odor problem. For light odor, the Maximum airflow capacity applies.
